Mother's day is a day when a child cherishes his/her mother, but this "celebration" was ill thought off for there are hundreds of thousands of children out there who doesn't have one physically or mentally.

I would like to thank you guys for making the overnight grand...(except for Hart's stupid white computer and my ego).

Since there were only 3 PCs, we ended up having tons of comp stomp games but it was still fun.

Notable Games : (in no order)
1. Tiberium Wars
Players : Gian (Scrin) and Joseph (GDI) vs 2 Hard Scrin Steamrollers

After losing previously to AI, Joseph told his n00bish Scrin teammate the ultimate beginner tip - SPAM your RESOURCES.... it worked after Gian nearly got wipped off the map.

2. Generals Zero Hour
Players : Willard (Lazer ?), Vincent (Tank), Hart (Airforce) vs 3 Hard Comps
Senario...

None of these guys had played Zero Hour in the last year and got massacred! Hart's faulty general point spending + shitty micro of King Raptors cost him the right flank and 4 oil rigs which he didn't destroy while Vince's defenseless left flank made it easy once his tanks got killed.

3. Assasin's Creed
Player : Willard, (everyone else as spectators).
Senario...

Imagine killing so many soldiers from the crusades that you could LITERALLY fill up a house with all the corpses you killed...not to mention a new way of going "invisible".

4. FEAR
Player : Hart, (while everyone else played Brawl and COD4).
Senario...

He got scared enough not the play the game during the 1st mission.

5. Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360).
Players : Hart, (while everyone else went to the desktops).
Senario...

He played so long and so close to the TV he got sick during dinner at my house. (addict eh!)

When you start shooting each other when you're supposed to finish the game together, you know you need a new teammate.

A FFA turns 3-on-1 with 3 Kirbys (or King Dededes) taking turns swallowing the "1" while jumping off the map to die honorably.

Friendly fire through : Knife, Grenade, or Artillery... you choose + multiple coups too!

9. Warcraft 3 (Tower Defense)

Joseph's (host computer) crashes due to the instability with W3 - wtf?!

10. Company of Heroes : Opposing Fronts
Players : Vince (British), Willard (British), and Joseph (American) vs 3 Expert Wehrmahct
Senario...

Being Vince's second over CoH:OF game, Gian picks a "tactical" map (Docks) with Vince at the left, Willard center, and Joseph right. Joseph races towards his expert at the other end knocking him out and putting up barricades along the bridges while Willard and Vince help each other out.

Joseph then regroups his infantry when the other Experts send Panthers and a King Tiger through the blockade and push him back into his base while Pioneers rebuild the old AI's HQ and regains his base and suddenly - everyone is going to DIE.

Willard and Vince work together destroying the bridges that connect the islands and prepares to make a "tactical" withdrawl to defend against the massive AI threat by packing up the trucks and moving them to Vince's side of the map. By the time this happens, Willard's main base is wipped out and Vince is rushing to repair the nearest bridge to allow Willard's third Command Truck to enter and Joseph has blown up all his bridges and taken care of the AI for good.

Joseph then turns agains the center by amassing his troops at the north most bridge in an attempt to cut off the AI's supplies but is pushed back and thus blows up the bridge... and again... and again... and again. Vincent and Willard slowly overpower the other AI when Joseph finally makes a good push when the game crashes. THE END. (wtf?!)

Difference of score between People and AI : 50 pts!
Time spent on battle : 2 hrs.

Let me address the "financial question" for the overnight :
The only thing you have to pay for are the meals.

Can we agree to all put money in one place then use the money to pay for the meals regardless if someone (*_*) eats more than the other?
The idea behind this is to simplify the monetary process and not feel streesed if the money for food will fit or not.

I plan to probably just collect 500 for the first two days from each one then see where it gets us. Will collect the next 500 for the next day or earlier if needed and the last 500 if the situation calls for it.

Thought I'd take some chaos (which is turning into order) off the sleepover and talk about the 2 CoH games Willard, Gian, and me had today. (credits go to Gian for being such a great sport).

GAME 1 : the Unsung Hero

Axis : Expert Wehrmacht × 4

Allies : British Gian, British Joseph, American Willard, American Expert

Map : Montargis Region

Having a captain backed by multiple lieutenants can be dangerous when they can all call in artillery strikes (works best with tons of munitions).

(START)

Joseph goes Brit to try off his new artillery strike tactic which he learned while beating up a n00b over at Angoville (photo 1) while Gian goes Commando and races for the hill to secure it. Willard then captures the center and builds MG nests to pin down incoming enemy units while Joseph takes the left side with his own MG nests, 17 lb anti-tank guns, and 25 lb howitzer guns. Gian, on the other hand, connects the hill to the center with a line of trenches to prevent enemy movement.

(MIDGAME)

All four expert (AIs) start pushing through the left most side in what evolves into "the Battle of the Bulge". With MGs, Pioneers, Volksgrenediers, Pumas, Stugs, and... Bicycles (?!), they continue running deep enought to harras the American Expert's base at the upper left most portion of the map. Joseph's defenses are overrunned and so is his Field HQ which is destroyed. He would play most of the game without it.

(CHAOS)

A unit control glitch hits Joseph and Willard as the experts go Terror to unleash multiple King Tigers. In an effort to save the day, Gian sends "Stealy Phil" (from Hey Arnold) with the British 4th Battallion. The 4 Tetrarchs, 2 Sherman Fireflies, and Command Tank are then taken down in less than 5 minutes leaving one King Tiger to assult the front, where Joseph's 17 pounders are nearly decimated, while the other comes out from the "bulge" to attack the Joseph's 25 pounders from the back. Willard, seeing this a mile away, sends three 57mm AT guns which push the first KT back into enemy territory, as Gian bombards the area, before turning them 180 degrees back to chase after the second KT. Calling for help, Joseph fires his howitzers at point black range to scare off the King Tiger who then comes even closer to knock out the only "truck" he has left in the game. Willard's ATs come right on time, blowing up the KT and it's escorting Puma.

(FINAL PUSH)

With the coast clear, the Expert comes out of his base in full force sending everything he has on the enemy base right opposite him. Gian gets a field of view at the other base nearest the hill and fires all his artillery units at it. Willard follows suite with 105mm howizers while Joseph's surviving 25lbs knock out the StuGs and StuHs spammed by the AIs.

With the game over, the American Expert outscores the winning team by nearly 15,000 pts against Joseph's 41,000 (WTF?!?!). Guess losing nearly double the highest number of infantry units compared to the next Allies player was a costly mistake.

GAME 2 : Your own medicine.

(START)

Gian hosts the game, setting it on high resources which disrupt Joseph's running tactic who stupidly didn't notice till he found 2 squads of British Infantry knocking in his front door. Joseph kicks them out of the trench with incindiary grenades while taking turns retreating his Grenediers to the base so they can reinforce as the fighting gets tough. He finally gives a full retreat while requisitioning points from half the map.

(MIDGAME)

Joseph cranks out a Mortar Halftrack to deal with the slit trench built by Gian at the lower end of the river blocking a possible flank manuever while Gian tries to capture points undefended by Joseph who then sends all his forces south. The Grenediers get off the halftrack, tosses grenades into the trench and resecures the southern portion. He then goes north avoiding the other trench blocking the northern bridge when Tetrarch Tanks crash in (literally) and starts harrasing the troops who then occupy a house bobby trapped by Gian who then blows it up killing everyone inside.

(FINAL PUSH)

Joseph mounts his remaining troops and charges for the north of the middle island where Gian camped his Field Support Truck. It is guarded by heavy infantry including commandos, commandos with a machine gun, commandos with a mortar, commandos with a PIAT... and more commandos. MP44s make quick work of them while Panzershreks and the new Marder 3 tank take care of the truck. Joseph takes it and prepares for a long game of "battleship" with his Hummel reinforcement.

(NOT UNTIL THE FAT QUEEN SINGS!)

Gian, rather than being outdone, lands Commandos and Tetrarch Tanks into Joseph's base to plant demo charges and knock out the base buildings while Joseph bombards his isle at the other end of the map in a game of "screw your opponent's bases". Joseph luckily had retreated his squads to heal at the HQ the second before who eventually kick out the party crashers who keep on crashing in the base until "Der Führer" calls in the second Hummel Howitzer to help in the blindless bombarding of the British base.

Gian calls a ceasefire to save his British Arse, just like in the Panzer Elité campaign, but from his mum who tells him to go back and study for the Math Excemption Test.

Even though I'm supposed to read 5 chapters in "Sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag", I'd rather put more importance on this important matter... the matter of friendship.

How can such a simple issue of "who is sitting with who" for the graduation ball be such a hassle? We don't even know who each of us is sitting with! There's a TOTAL lack of communication between the clan as it is.

Before Classes :
Where do we meet? 4H Classroom.
What happens? Each member's attention is divided among cramming homeworks, tests, and the other members.
Who attends? I dunno... Willard only. Gian, Lance, and I have to deal with "more pressing" matters at hand.

Recess :
Where do we meet? Front Table
What happens? Each member is struggling to get FOOD. Even if we ALL attend, we're not there fully (of the already short 30 mins). Each one has sudden things to attend to after eating and like the classroom, there's no privacy. We're with non-lounge members; how can we discuss sensitive lounge issues?

Lunch :
Where do we meet? NOWHERE!
Tell me - when was the LAST TIME WE WERE ALL TOGETHER AS A LOUNGE DURING LUNCH?!
Fuck it! We don't meet each other anymore. On top of that, the attention is always divided by the homeworks and the school preparations we take with us. How can you give FULL attention to a friend when you have your stupid math and "kuko ng liwanag" book with you?!

Hey guys, just wanted to show some screens on the recently announced Red Alert 3. Apparently, EA wants to focus on naval warfare this time around (YES!), so expect to see many more of those Squids! Moreover, whether good or bad, both the story will be light and casual, not as realistic and strategic as, say, Company of Heroes. AKA. It will be wacky and arcady, as Red Alert has always been.

And yes, Japan (now called The Empire of the Sun) is going to be a third faction, together with the Allies and Soviets. Apparently, someone went back in time and fixed World War 2....Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere ftw!

Hey guys! Finally, all the stress is over. No more exams, no more entrance tests, no more projects, no more compositions....for now. Anyway, aside from my ranting about how good Sem-Break, let me give you guys some cool news.

As I've said before, Relic is making its 3rd expansion for the Dawn of War series, named Soulstorm. Now, news has just gotten out about the second race that's being added to the game aside from the Dark Eldar. And, no, it's not Tyranids. It's the Witch Hunters/Sisters of Battle/Nun with Guns or hoewever you want to name them. Oh, another bit of news is the fact that Soulstorm is going to be the biggest expansion yet, enabling you to conquer 4 planets and 3 moons! Here are some screens to whet your appetite. =)

Hey guys, been a while since I posted. Well....I think it's been a while since any of us have been active on this site. Oh well. Anyway here's a cool article I saw at Yahoo! today. For those that want to purchase the much-anticipated Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you might want to take a look at this:

It basically talks about a special vest that allows players to feel the impact of shots, stabs, and blows in a video game (hope it doesn't kill you). It will be oou on November for $190, so it's your call if you wanna try it out. Seems interesting, but I wouldn't spend that much on a vest considering I still have 7 holiday games on my list.

Next, I'd like to talk about the upcoming game, Hellgate:London, which most of us are planning to get this Halloween. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you have other games on your priority list), the recently released demo has been criticized for its dullness, repetitive gameplay" boring quests, bad graphics, and awful voice acting. However, many of the beta players (no, not me =P) say that the demo is a bad indication of the real game. For one, it takes up 1.3GB in your hard drive, but only has 10 quests, most of which are located at the start of the game. According to them, the beta was a lot better, so, now, I don't really know if it's worth buying. You can check out some articles I posted below to help you decide; if not, just wait for the reviews from Gamespot and IGN.

Lastly, I recently bought The Orange Box (CoH: OF was out-of-stock), and I can definitely say it's a must buy even though I've only just played Portal and Team Fortress 2. Come on! 5 games for the price of one (although Portal is only 2 hours while Episode 1 is only 4 hours), who could possibly ignore that. Oh, and do take note that it becomes 6 games if you opt to install Counter-Strike. If you don't believe me, just look at the reviews:

A fair warning though, the installation, updating, patching, and downloading of Steam in order to play the game is a VERY VERY VERY VERY tedious and LONG process, but, if you're patient enough, it's well worth it. It took me 3 hours before I had everything properly working. Before you get to play the game, you have to:

1) Download Steam (Valve's Piracy Solution, damn pirates, giving me a hard time)
2) Patch Steam
3) Create a Steam Account
4) Activate all 5 games (CD-Key)
5) Prepare Cache Files for all 5 games
6) Install all five games
7) Patch all five games

One annoying thing though (damn the pirates) is that in order to play any of the games, you must be 1)Online and 2) Have the latest patch. Yes, I know, a very tedious, and...shall we say...stupid process, but, for me at least, it's worth every second I took to install it (and I only played Portal and TF2).

Oh, btw, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer is out. Here are the reviews:

Opposing Fronts Review

My schedule today's been hectic...

I wake up at 3, 4, and 5 am due to the brownout ~ stupid meralco; thus, didn't get good sleep for the SAT. damn

After which, I come home; eat a late lunch since it took forever for sina Dwight, Gian, and Vince to get out (my test finished at 12:20, waited for them till 13:35 then left) before attending a "meeting" in GCF.

Being tired and all, I walked to Coffee Bean after the meeting to prepare for the "SS-OS Soiree" next friday at 10 am which was followed by a 20 minute extraction mission at Shangrila Mall to pick up the game title you see above ;)

So lets get to it then.

First of : Installation
Once you insert the DVD, something different happens... the wizard checks to see if your PC has CoH. If it does, it uninstalles CoH and installs CoH:OF which actually contains the CoH system w/o harming your saved game files and screenshots.

You next enter in your DVD key and will then be greated by the usual progress bar of doom... which actually comprises über cinematics and awesome background music as your computer installs the game. Not bad, huh?

Setting Up System
Once you have it in your PC, you'll need to plug in the CoH (original) DVD Key to activate the CoH content and the CoH DVD. Also, I've noticed that if you're not connected to the internet while playing CoH:OF [CoH becomes CoH:OF at this point], it asks that you leave the DVD inside the drive for "verification purposes".

One of the first things that grab your attention is the loading screen layout - yeah, they even updated it - followed by the new menu layout which is more customized for auto-online access. If you are connected online, the game doesn't seem to ask for the disk anymore... but it did ask me to download 137 mb of patch files for CoH:OP which I'll do tomorrow.

Fragging till the end.
In response to the never ending moronics of gamespot : they're the biggest game dumbasses in the entire industry! I jumped headfirst into the controls of the Panzer Elite and whipped the asses of two hard computers, followed by an Expert A.I. in one on one battles while trying out the different doctrines. [You'll find out which new doctrine I've come to love down below]

I've also tried the British side of the game which I will be playing heavily for the first few tries.

[Gian... Know your enemy [British] and know yourself [Panzer Elité], and you can fight a thousand battles undefeated ~ Sun Tzu].

But I must say... those damn 25 pounder howitzer guns and the 17 pounder AT guns are intimidating... moreso with the instant sniper upgrade of every british infantry squad!

After playing around with the new factions, I wanted to see how I'd do against the new ones.

Using the Brits up first, the smart-ass expert kept on moving his HQ around nearly deploying right next to my base. After constant blowing up and attacks with Pak 38s, I put him back where he belongs, no problem (using the old fashioned Wehrmacht).

Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts Released

Hey guys, despite the extremely stressful week we just had, and the even more excruciating weeks to follow, I'd like to give you guys some good news for once. The official standalone expansion pack for Company of Heroes, the 2006 PC Game of the Year, has been released and is now available at Datablitz. It's now currently priced at Php 1750 for the regular version of the game.

Company of Heroes introduces two new playable factions, the British 2nd Army and the German Panzer Elite, both of which, according to reviews, are much more difficult to use than the original two and were made for advanced or experienced CoH players. The British Army is a turtle player's dream team, but don't let this statement trick you into perceiving them as merely "build lots of defenses and wait for the enemy to charge." In reality, the British employ a slow take and hold strategy. In contrast, the Panzer Elite are an extremely mobile force, requiring the player to use good micromanagement to zip them around the battlefield in order capture points and stage hit and run attacks. In addition, the entire Opposing Fronts campaign has seventeen mission, from the perspectives of both armies. For more info, check the main Opposing Fronts site.

If you're still undecided as to whether to buy Opposing Fronts, here are two reviews to help get your mind straight. IGN gave Opposing Fronts an 8.8, stating that while it wasn't as innovative and mind-blowing as the original, it was still an amazing RTS overall. On the otherhand, Gamespot has not been as kind to it, scrutinizing its insane difficulty and labeling it as a fairly straightfoward and satisfying follow-up, thus giving it a score of 8.0. Although, for you information, Gamespot has never been too kind to CoH, giving the original an 8.8 just because it only had 2 factions. Eventually, due to the complaints of the public, they raised the score of the original to a 9.0. I'll leave you to decide whether it's worth it or not, just remember that it is a standalone expansion, and thus you don't need the original CoH to play it. Here are the links to the review sites:

I am pleased to announce that World in Conflict is now available at Datablitz. As of now, the regular version of the game costs P2195, and, supposedly, comes with a free History Channel DVD, although what it contains is still a mystery.

Sadly, for those of us waiting to get their hands on the Collector's Edition, which comes with a World in Conflict earphone, a peice of the Berlin Wall, and a History Channel DVD, will be very disappointed to know that it is not available at DataBlitz. Damn those evil ninja wizards! Trying to hinder our plans of constructing a new Berlin Wall! Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait for Opposing Fronts to see that happen.

For those of you that don't know. World in Conflict has been commended on reinvigorating and innovating that often stale RTS genre. Popular game sites such as Gamespot gave it a whopping score of 9.5, which makes it second highest rated PC game next to Diablo.

Be warned though that World in Conflict is a very demanding game, comparable to most modern FPS games, and, yes, it has greater system requirements than even Company of Heroes. As of now, it has a minimum requirement of:

CPU: 2.0 Ghz or higher
RAM: 512MB
GPU: 128MB video RAM, Direct X9.0c compatible (around GeForce 6 series at the least)
Hard Drive: 9GB or more

Don't be fooled though as according to the link below, the game can barely run at the lowest settings with a single-core CPU, 512MB RAM, and a video card less than a GeForce 6600.

This is probably one of the worse days in my life...

I turn back to the house half way to school because I left my camera.
I end up walking from Wilson St. to Gate 14 in the middle of a torrential downpour.
I left my El Filibusterismo in my locker as Alemberg steps in to substitute.
I offer to get out of the classroom to get the DVD player, comedown the back way and still forget to stop by my locker to get the book.
I return the DVD to the AVR and is told to go back and return the remote control [already tired at this point].
I waste my recess looking around to see if the club picture taking will push through or not.
I underperform my Chinese Mastery Test.
I lose valuable time looking for teachers who have my Teacher Recommandation Forms.
I take a bath, dress, and shave ~ all under time pressure not to be late for my college interview.
I loose the contact details of the location ~ thank GOD for GPRS / yahoo mobile.
My meeting gets delayed
When I arrive, it's still delayed
I come back home with internet problems with the new wireless router.
I try to fix the system and corrupted my own LAN card built into the motherboard [thus, no internet].
I salvage the system and end up reinstalling Nintendo Wi-Fi.
I don't make progress with my Physics SAT Review.

But here's the good news :

Stocks are up, and I meet this hot, actually really cool, girl.

An Unexpected Twist

In a baffling and unexpected twist, Relic and THQ announced today that the upcoming expansion pack for Company of Heroes, Opposing Fronts, has gone gold and will be released on SEPTEMBER 24. Now, I checked a few sites to confirm this new release date, and here's what I've come up with so far.

The following sites have confirmed the September 24 release date: Gamespot, Amazon, Wikipedia, and even THQ. In addition, many beta testers have been informed of the new release date as well.

However, do take note that most of the other sites, such as IGN, still have Opposing Fronts listed as having a November release date. But, as of now, I'd have to say that it will be coming out on September, due to the overwhelming evidence.

In order words, get your wallets ready people, because we'll have both the Nazi and the Soviets this month.

Command & Conquer Free Game

To commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Command & Conquer series, EA Games has recently released a free full version of the first Command & Conquer Game, CnC 1: Tiberian Dawn (1995). This version is similar to the one found on the game package, The First Decade, and thus will be playable on Windows XP and Vista.

For those of you that don't know, Command & Conquer 1: Tiberian Dawn is one of the three original "kings" of RTS games, together with Warcraft: Orcs and Humans (1994) and Total Annihilation (1997), that sparked the genre. I suggest this download for those who want to know how the original Tiberium (Tiberian) Wars escalated into a global conflict between the GDI and The Brotherhood of Nod. I mean, that's probably the only reason you're going to download it anyway. As for me, now I have a spare game for my mom's laptop.

CoH Tactics and Strategy

I'm supposed to be reading El Filibusterismo and studying for my Chinese quiz tomorrow... but "What the heck"

Ever since I started engaging John Huang and Robert Locsin, I've had a complete reshuffle of starting game tactics on both Axis and Allies. My engagements online on the ranked servers has made this more clear. Thankfully, from a total n00b on the rank servers, I'm now Level 5 in Allies and Level 4 on Axis. [I choose random so I can play IMMEDIATELY]

But since I can't give my FULL Tactical Details because the enemy lurks among us...

1. Get fuel early in the game.
Doing so would ensure that you can tech up quickly and get armor out - something newbies and n00bs alike can't handle.

2. Let the situation dictate your company/doctrine.
Strategy = killing the opponent.
Tactic = how to kill the opponent.
I normally let the developments of the game choose my style of play. This makes your style more flexible to the current situation. Only choose a specific company/doctrine early in the game if you have a full pledge plan on how to crush the enemy - this must be able to survive early game rushes and long term battles.

3. Barbwire versus Sandbags.
Early in the game... barbwire can be a hassle, if you have a way of being able to pin down enemy Engineers and Pioneers from cutting the damn thing, then your okay. Otherwise, and for a long term defense, use sandbags.

4. Choose the OP points carefully.
In the real battle, you have scarce resources [a.k.a. Economics]. You must judge where and when to put Observation Posts; thus, take into account the area it holds, what it gives you, and if you can afford the "opportunity cost" to construct such a defense.

5. Push
Usually, there comes a time when a fierce battle erupts and both sides are left weary. The one who can push and reinforce his squads quicker would gain the upper hand and win the day. I've seen many people commit this mistake : Gian, Willard, John, Robert, and even myself at times [I just haven't seen the replays to know]. But I've used this on the rank servers... and have won with it.

Hey guys, just wanted to post some screens of my Supreme Commander game yesterday. I was finally able to finish the final mission of the Aeon campaign after 4 hours of patience. Anyway, the explosive finale was enough to make it all worth it. 120 T3 Siege Assault Bots and 4 Galatic Colossi. >=D

If you notice a unit with a small arrow above its head, that's my objective. Poor, poor Marxon, he never stood a chance...

World in Conflict Demo

It comes with a cool single-player mission that where you defend a US town against the USSR. It also lets you play online multiplayer, which is happy.

Hey guys, just wanted to announce the official release of Patch 1.07 for Tiberium Wars. According to the EA Site, it is strongly advised the you use the auto-updater instead of manually downloading the file itself. Here are some of the major changes taking place:

1. The Scrin Mothership's speed has been increased by 33%, but will now take 8 seconds to deploy when summoned by the signal transmitter.

2. Pitbull's health reduced by 20%. Mortar Upgrade increased to 2000 from 1000.

3. Cranes for all 3 factions will no longer be able to build defensive structures and superweapons. In other words, once your MCV is downed, you're completely screwed.

C&C 3: Kane's Wrath Update

Hey guys, just wanted to post a short list of the units that might be available in the expansion. As of now, the list will be limited to the currently announced Nod and GDI units. Moreover, I am still not entirely sure which subfaction these units may belong to, so don't expect them to be all bundled up in a single army.

GDI:
1. Hammerhead- The best way to explain this unit is to compare it to the Combat Chinook found in Generals: Zero Hour. It's basically the same concept, except that the Hammerhead is equipt right away with twin auto cannons that shred infantry to bits. Moreover, GDI infantry, including Zone Troopers, will be able to garrison and fire from the inside of the gunship. The Hammerhead wil not need to re-load in an airfield, and it will not be equipt with any anti-air guns.

2. Slingshot- Okay, another Generals comparison; think, a hovering quad cannon. It's basically the same idea: weak armor, great anti-air capabilities, with the additional benefit of hover technology.

3. Shatterer- Three words: Hover Sonic Emitters. Period.

Nod:
1. The Awakened- The cyborg remnants of CABAL's former army, these guys are packed with two weapons: an EMP cannon and a machinegun, which can be upgraded into a laser cannon. These will basically be used as anti-infantry, especially against Zone Troopers, but will aslo provide a supporting anti-tank role with their EMP cannons (Yes, no need for Buggies anymore)
As of now, I'm still unsure as to whether EA will bring back their second-life ability, but as of now, it seems they only have one.

2. Specter- The Specter is a stealth artillery vehicle that can bombard units from long distances (duh). In line with this, the Nod Shadow Teams will now gain a new ability called Artillery Beacon, which enables the Specter to fire within the beacon's radius, much like the sniper-Juggernaught combo.

3. Reckoner- The Reckoner is a heavily armored troop transport, that, while mobile, will not enable infantry garrisoned inside to fire from its ports. However, the Reckoner will have to ability to deploy into a fortified bunker, which then enables all garrisoned infantry to rain fire.

C&C3: Kane's Wrath

Due to the fact that, to my great annoyance, there are no classes tomorrow and my weekend has officially been ruined, I would like to bring some good news. Sorry if I have to push down the rant post, but this is how I vent my anger and make an announcement at the same time.

Okay, anyway, the official expansion pack for Command & Conquer 3 has been announced by EA. The expansion, named Kane's Wrath, will continue the story from the ending of Tiberian Sun/Firestorm, until the ending of the Third Tiberium War story-arc. Moreover, the three current factions (GDI, Nod, & Scrin) will be split into 2 sub-factions each, Zero Hour style. In addition, due to the clammoring of fans, the GDI will see the return of its hover vehicles, most notably the Hover MLRS (oh shit), and, as for Nod, they'll see the reawakening of the Cyborg army (YES!). There will also be a new mode included, namely the World Domination mode, in this mode, players will be able to conquer the world, one area at a time, similar to games like BFME 2 and Medieval 2: Total War.

Prepare for your ultimate demise GDI, for Kane shall rule all soon enough.

P.S. What's with the word, "wrath," suddenly appearing on different expansions? First we have WoW: Wrath of teh Lich King, and now this....lol

The seniors of Ateneo College still don't have their yearbook from Xavier. The younger granduates have "jack shit" [Adolf Hilter gets banned]. I don't want to be affiliated with some club that has this bad a reputation, won't even choose me as Photo Editor because I'm a high ranking officer of Stallion when the EIC and Assoc. EIC are also top level ranking officers of different clubs and orgs.
I have the largest photo collection of my batch; half the photos in the grade sever yearbook were mine because ROPER SUCKS! *one, two, three... and SMILE (Tita Ruby squats)*
If they aren't gonna give me a respectable position, then I might as well quit... nothing is happening. My counterpart in Poveda, who is photohead of their student publication AND photohead of their yearbook, is practically half done with their yearbook... and we haven't even assigned the members their committees!
I don't give shit whether time is a contrait or not... IT IS ALWAYS A CONTRAINT... that's why we have ECONOMICS! I'm failing it cause I don't give shit with the terms... if you get the job done on time, on budget and legally... who gives crap about those terms?!

Release Dates Update 2

Okay, here's the deal. On one hand, we're all going to be very happy and hopelessly addicted both before and after this Semestral Break. On the otherhand, we're going to very, very broke (unless you buy pirated..tsk.tsk.). In just a span of 8 days, 5 awesome games are going to be released, unless, of course, one or two of them get delayed. They are:

1. October 31- Hellgate: London
2. November 1- Turning Point: Fall of Liberty
3. November 5- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
4. November 6- Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts.
5. November 6- Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

So anyway, start saving up. Hopefully you guys will keep Hellgate: London or Opposing Fronts at the top of the priority list, since most of us will be getting them. As for Supreme Commander, Turning Point, and Call of Duty 4, only one or two will be getting them, but I decided to add them as extra information for those who want to purchase them.

Hm..Now that I think about it...I think I'm the only one who's going to be broke. lol. That list does not include two of my anticipated games that fall on the same time frame. Yeah..just me. lol

F.I.Y., I'm probably not getting Turning Point anymore, so sorry Fuhrer if we can't play multiplayer anymore.

Hellgate: London Multiplayer

Okay, as there has been some confusion regarding the Hellgate: London multiplayer system, I have done the liberty of digging up some information concerning the issue. First of all, Hellgate: London is best similar to the game, Diablo and Diablo 2, and thus it is foremost a single-player action RPG. Although there are some multiplayer aspects, they are not comparably greater in terms of content and updates than regular pay-to-play MMOs such as World of Warcraft. The multiplayer in Hellgate will be, in most ways, similar to an advanced version of Guild Wars, in that the world will not be free-roaming, but instanced or dungeon style. Moreover, players will have to meet in lobbies in order to form a group to adventure in the ruins of London. In addition, I have just confirmed that there will be PvP in Hellgate, much like the arena-style PvP in Guild Wars.

Now, there are two types of accounts in Hellgate, one that is absolutely free, and another which has a subscription, called an Elite account. The Elite account requires you to pay an amount of $10 per month in order to access its benefits. Some of these benefits, that are exclusive to Elite members only include:

-Receive ongoing content updates released every 2-3 months (much like in WoW). This includes new dungeons, armor, weapons, monsters, items, and quests. Note, however, that free accounts can still download patches, which fixes certain bugs and technical problems.
-Allowed to have 12 characters slots available, while the free accounts only have 3.
-Special PvP Arenas and a PvP ladder
-The ability to create guilds and become an officer. Note though, that free players can still join guilds, but can never become an officer/guild master nor create guilds of their own.
-Special in-game transportation
-Priority when it comes to server queues.

If you believe that the benefits of the Elite subscription outweigh the cost, then by all means, subscribe! I hope that at least one person in the clan subscribes, so that we can form a guild; if not, then..oh well.

I hope this post clears up some of the concerns regarding the multiplayer portion of Hellgate. Looking forward to bashing, shooting, blasting, smashing, slicing, chopping, freezing, burning, chopping, stomping, gunning, sniping, melting, sawing, exploding, punching, kicking, decapitating, incinerating, controlling and..um...eating demons with you guys.

Guys, we're a nice decent clan.

We've got a nice round number of expert... ok, mostly expert, players for respective games, and we've all got our talents. (geniuses, photographers, artists, singers, etc.)

we're all relatively active, so scheduling or posting isn't an issue

We're all relatively good blokes that share a common purpose.

So I suggest we make a clan webcomic. One, it shows that we aren't just geeks mad about games. This site can be seen by everyone, so even though we don't get much net traffic, we can show things other than pawnage screenshots. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, sophisticated or degrading. Just a webcomic for fun. Obviously, no offensive stuff.

1) Frequency of comic will probably be as frequent as the free time of the artist/s. maybe weekly, maybe monthly, maybe hourly, who knows?

2) Artists: Lance is prime choice, obviously. His art is GREAT, but a bit on the... rough side. if he doesn't have time, we can just post stick-figures, sequenced screenshots, or resort to the OTHER "artist", me.

3) Storyline: er... I don't think it's applicable. Maybe something like Penny-Arcade or VG Cats, funny, concise, straight to the point.

4) Topics: Obviously, gaming. Or frustration with exams.

So, I'll leave a poll so that we can decide whether or not the clan wants it. actuating it... we'll worry about that AFTER the poll.

And no, I didn't propose this because there are too little webcomics around.

The Opposing Fronts

Based from the previews written by Gamespot and IGN, here are some details about the Company of Heroes expansion. There are two factions in the game, namely the British 2nd Army and the German Panzer Elite.

British 2nd Army:
The Brits, scottish music aside, are the happiest faction ever. They're built for both defensive players (aka Turtles) and those that love to employ infantry in battle (aka me). They'll deploy defenses such as trenches, mortar-bunks, and even a rapid-fire Flak-like cannon. In additon, the Brits will have the most versatile infantry squads (hey, they can carry grenade launchers!) Aside from that, the Brits will also not need to be as aggressive in taking capture points as other factions because of their resource bonuses.

German Panzer Elite:
The German Panzer Elite are made for those that like to crush their enemies beneath their iron tracks. They're the most mobile and aggressive among the factions, and, since they're called "The Elite," will be able to deploy the most veteran units of the Nazi War machine, but in very few numbers. They'll also have the best vehicles and tanks in the game, among them the King Tiger and Jagdpanther. Moreover, their infantry will be able to garrison inside the vehicles and fire from the inside. They give true meaning to the word blitzkrieg.

I don't entirely support the picture of me that's been presented in older posts, but I guess it's ok. I'm not trying to destabalize society, I merely question the system.

If possible, kindly do not post pictures of us connected to our usernames as I would like to keep my identity secret should any new posters come about. If the admins say the pictures stay, I'm perfectlty alright with that. However, it just leaves me a bit uncomfortable.

I've been playing DOTA again, and while I'm not going to go on posting screenshots (too lazy or not really a good picture taker), I guess I'll be writing stuff from my WoW days (since one of the admins told me I could)

((PS I like the picture, just not the fact it's posted on a blog lol.))

I don't have the time to post anything worth contributing this weekend, so next week would be a better bet.

As of today, July 6, 2007, I will be posting a list of upcoming games for the month on our links section. However, the lists will be limited to the following:

1. Only PC Games will be listed as not everyone owns a console or handheld (namely, me).

2. Only quality games will be listed,
basically those that have a chance of receiving a score of 8.0-10 on Gamespot and IGN.
No, I will not post "Columbine School Massacre The Game."

3. Genres will be limited to RTS, FPS, RPG, Action and MMO.
Hey, who the hell cares aboutadventure and sports games?
I will, however, post a game from a different genre if I know more than one lounge members are interested in it. (aka. Burnout!)

4. I will avoid posting expansions and booster packs unless I know more than two lounge
